Fall is almost over

We have had the most beautiful fall here, and it has lasted a solid 6 weeks, which is a long time for any season to last in Colorado! But, alas, the snow has returned. And although it probably won't last more than 2 days before melting away, we have gotten 3 inches of it already this morning! It is beautiful. And, for his part, Tanner, our 8 month old "puppy", loves the snow!

As with all things "new" in our "new" house, we have been getting used to the different sounds from the wind, which blew very hard last night. Creaks and groans from the house are in different places than in the old one, so it makes us a little jumpy getting used to it. I must have woke up three or four times last night asking Lori, "what was that?", and "shall I go see?" After some of our early experienes with basement flooding, skunk invasions and such in the first weeks here, I am a little overprotective of our property, as you can imagine.

The basement remodel is coming along nicely. The bathroom is underway now, and we are about ready to start some painting.
