Deer Friends visit on Tanner's sick day

Another snowy Sunday has come, and almost gone. This one brought with it the deep, wet snow of spring. Considering it was almost 70 degrees a few days ago, it is not too hard to take this time. We had a herd of deer that settled in our back yard for most of the afternoon.

Besides that, today was pretty uneventful. In fact, this weekend has been one of the most relaxing int he past 4-5 months!
However, last night was full of a little unwanted excitment. Tanner, our 1 yr. old golden lab puppy was very, very sick. We came home from an evening with friends to discover he had been sick in his kennel. I'll spare you the graphic details, except to say it took an hour to clean up ( thank God he was in the crate!) , and he continued to have episodes of being violently ill all night, about every two hours. It was like having infants int he house all over again! Worried that he was dehydrating, Lori took him to the emergency vet clinic this morning. Our beloved friend, Dr. Bill happened to be on duty today, and we were blessed to have him treat and stabilize Tanner. Tanner seems a little better tonight, and is drinking and eating a bit and keeping it down.

We have layed low all day, keeping a roaring fire going since early this afternoon. The snow continues to pile up. And it is beautiful and peaceful, and we might just catch up on the sleep we lost last night, since we were able to take a nap in front of the fire today! Ahhh!

Now if we can just squeeze out a snow day, tomorrow!

I hope Tanner is feeling better now! Poor little (big) guy!

Did you get a snow day today or a delay? I don't think it has snowed today at all over our way, but it's sure been cloudy.
