Spring Break snow storm 2010

It began about 8 last night with wind and snow, being called a "blizzard", but ended by midnight. We were left with about 8 inches of heavy, wet snow. I spent the better part of the morning shoveling the driveway and the deck, and my entrepreneur son is out earning money shoveling some of our older neighbors' driveways right now. The sun is finally coming out!

Charlie is not too sure what to make of it, though!

Pinewood Derby Day

Pack 1 had their annual Pinewood Derby today! In four heats, Wesley's car placed 1st twice, then fourth, then second. He placed 2nd overall, and won a trophy ( not pictured here, due to technical dificulties!)

The competition was held at the local Daniels Motors Dealership, who generously donated their service bay. ( A very appropriate place to race cars!) Wes' car was called the Red Rider, and was a creation all his own!

Thirteen

Are you superstitious? I'm not, but my daughter just turned 13 last month, and I have butterflies being the parent of an actual teenager...which she reminds us of every so often. She had a sleepover with 4 of her friends ( 3 "old" friends and 1 new one), and actually it was quite tame. Here she was opening gifts, and then another picture the next morning and with her friends.
